Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. South Whittier School District (SWSD) is excited to begin a new school year and provide students access to a high quality instructional program in a safe environment where powerful teaching and learning takes place daily. SWSD looks forward to working closely with parents and community to provide a caring, challenging and nurturing learning environment where all students can be successful.
As we open this year, students will be engaged in a robust well-rounded curriculum that prepares them to be responsible contributing community members of the 21st Century. With the start of the new school year comes great optimism and excitement for students and parents, while staff eagerly awaits the opportunity to support and guide students through the learning process.
Through Summer we have done much work to ensure that we are prepared for the challenges of this year. Every employee of SWSD has a hand in making this District the best it can be. We believe in positively influencing students by fostering healthy and welcoming school environments, supporting students in their challenges so they can reach their full potential and celebrating their diversity while meeting their individual needs. As always, I encourage parents and stakeholders to be involved in the many opportunities available to learn and grow with us.
I look forward to working with the entire SWSD community and on behalf of the Board of Trustees, we wish the entire South Whittier School District community a fun, safe and successful school year.
