Monte Vista Honors Students For Academic Achievements

Monte Vista Elementary held their monthly morning assembly on Friday, October 12, to honor students for their academic achievements.

The assembly began with highlighting this month’s college spotlight, Biola University. Teachers Marjorie Codding and Lisa Allen, both Biola alumni, shared about the university and it’s most popular majors. After the college spotlight, principal, Andrea Larios, announced Monte Vista’s newest ASB members.

Larios then began student achievement awards for the month. She honored students who met their AR goals, the top students in each class to know the most math facts, and the student from each class who excelled in the month’s AVID focus, binder checks.

The assembly wrapped up with September birthday recognitions, and honoring the class of the month for the best attendance, Ms. White’s 5th grade class. Principal Larios ended the assembly by encouraging students to “be kind, expect the best, the choice is mine!”

Awesome job Monte Vista Wildcats!
