South Whittier 6th Grader Invited to FC Barcelona Soccer Foundation's TFA Experience

Sergio Nuno, of South Whittier, has been invited to play soccer at FC Barcelona Soccer Foundation’s Total Futbol Academy Experience in Barcelona, Spain to participate in soccer games against other Youth Soccer Academies from around the world.

 

Nuno is a 6th grader at Carmela Elementary School in South Whittier and has been playing soccer since he was five years old. This is Nuno’s first time going to Europe to play soccer and he is excitement for this opportunity.

 

“It means a lot to me because it is the first time that I will be going to Europe. It will be a great experience for me,” said Nuno. “It is going to give me the opportunity to feel like a professional soccer player by playing in Spain.”

 

Through this once in a lifetime experience, Sergio will be able to participate in various social and cultural experiences of Europe and the Catalan culture. Aside from his European cultural experience, he will be able to have the opportunity to play for the most famous professional soccer club in the world.

 

“I’m excited to visit and play on the fields that one of the best players, Messi, used to play on,” Nuno stated. “I’m also excited to visit Barcelona’s training ground and stadium.”

 

FC Barcelona is the home to many well known professional soccer players and the organization has won countless Champions League titles, European Cup, Fair Cup, and FIFA World Cup titles.

 

Sergio will be in Barcelona, Spain for the TFA Experience from March 22nd until April 3rd.
