South Whittier School District hosted its KinderFest event on Tuesday, January 28th, at Graves Middle School. This event was designed for incoming South Whittier families to learn about each school and the award winning programs that they offer students.
The KinderFest event featured every South Whittier School District elementary school, programs, resources, and local partners. Each elementary school booth gave parents an opportunity to meet and speak with the school principal, community liaison, and teachers. They were able to learn about each school and their unique programs that benefit students and their families.
Community partners were also in attendance. These partners included the South Whittier library, The Boys & Girls Club, Think Together, and others. All attendees received a shirt, a tote bag, and a free taco dinner.
Attendees were also able to hear from South Whittier School District Superintendent, Dr. Gonzales, and SWSD’s Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, Dr. Rodriguez. Dr. Rodriguez gave a brief presentation that informed families of important dates and deadlines, how to enroll their student, and the necessary documents needed to enroll. Lastly, she shared about what goes on in TK and Kinder classrooms and what their daily schedule and curriculum looks like.
