South Whittier School District parents participated in Rio Hondo College’s art show on Thursday, November 7th, at Rio Hondo College.
South Whittier School District in partnership with Rio Hondo has offered parents and guardians weekly art classes held at Graves Middle School every Friday since September. These classes are part of an ongoing parent engagement and continuing education program offered by SWSD.
The parents who have been participating in this art class were invited to showcase their artwork pieces at the Rio Honda Art Show. South Whittier’s administrators and directors were in attendance at the event to support SWSD parents.
“It was a wonderful tribute to their hard work, creativity, and growth, and we couldn’t be more proud of all they’ve achieved,” Director of Community Schools, Karina Hartl, shared. “We look forward to providing many more opportunities for our parent community to learn, grow, and connect!”
South Whittier School District continues to offer a variety of parent classes including art, yoga, and English as a second language, among others to SWSD families. These classes are part of their ongoing efforts to provide continuing education and parent engagement for all.
