SWSD January Board Meeting Recap

South Whittier School District held their monthly board meeting on Tuesday, January 16, in person at the district office and via Zoom.

 

This month the board and attendees heard two presentations regarding various audit reports.

 

PRESENTATION: 2022-2023 Financial Audit Report

 

The board and attendees heard a presentation from a representative from Eide Bailly regarding the district’s 2022-2023 financial audit report. 

 

The representative gave the findings from their independent audit of the financial statements and activities of South Whittier School District. He shared that through their audit they didn’t identify any weaknesses or noncompliance in either the state or federal compliance regulations. 

 

It is their opinion that the finances of the district ended in accordance with all accounting principals.

 

PRESENTATION: 2022-2023 Measure QS Bond Audit Report

 

A representative from CWDL gave a presentation regarding the 2022-2023 Measure QS Bond audit report. 

 

They shared that the components of their independent audit report is an unmodified opinion on financial statements, which is a clean and best opinion that can be given. They stated that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Measure QS General Obligation Bonds of South Whittier School District, as of June 30, 2023, and the changes in financial position for the year then ended in accordance with accounting principles.

 

 

The district will hold their next board meeting on Tuesday, February 20, in the district board room and via Zoom.
