Lake Marie Hosts Family Literacy Night

Lake Marie Elementary held their first Family Literacy Night on Wednesday, May 17, in the school’s multipurpose room.

The Family Literacy Night was a fun event that students and their families got to participate in that promoted the importance of literacy. Organized by Lake Marie’s Mrs. Fontes, the multipurpose room was transformed into cozy reading areas with comfy chairs and rugs. Attendees were encouraged to get comfy and wear their pajamas to the event. There were also snacks, crafts, and of course many books to choose from.

Lake Marie principal, Lisa Palomino, shared, “It was successful evening where our students and families were reading and enjoying being a community embracing literacy!”

This was the first time Lake Marie hosted the event and they hope to make Family Literacy Night a school tradition.
