Aquarium of the Pacific Visits Los Altos

Aquarium of the Pacific visited Los Altos Elementary on Tuesday, March 14, bringing students their tidepool animal exploration touch tanks.

All Los Altos students were able to participate in the mobile touch tanks. Each student got to explore all three tanks in the aquarium on wheels. They were given an allowed time at each touch tank and were then instructed to move on to the next tank to ensure all students got to experience each tank.

The Aquarium had their animal educators there to share with students about the animals they were able to see and touch. Some of the animals included sea cucumbers, sea urchins, star fish, anemones, sharks, and much more!

Students were excited to experience the hands-on lessons about sea life. They were interactive and asked the Aquarium educators many questions. Educators discussed the animals’ habitat, adaptations, and anatomy.
