South Whittier School District elementary schools hosted their Spelling Bee events throughout the month of December to determine each school’s top four spellers.
Students in grades fourth through sixth had their chance to compete to earn their way into their school’s top four. Each elementary school hosted their own Spelling Bee event that consisted of judges, an audience, and multiple rounds of rigorous words to determine the winners.
“This is the first year Los Altos got to participate in the Spelling Bee,” Los Altos principal, Ms. Silebi shared with Spelling Bee attendees. “We are so proud of our students and their hard work, and we look forward to seeing them compete at the District Spelling Bee.”
The top four spellers from each elementary school will come together to compete in the District Spelling Bee that will take place on Thursday, January 19, at Loma Vista Elementary. This event will determine one final South Whittier School District winner.
