SWSD Begins BOND Measure QS Summer Projects

South Whittier School District has begun various improvement projects across the District as a part of their BOND Measure QS summer projects.

 

Repairs and improvements are currently underway at every South Whittier school including the District office. Some improvements include new flooring, painting, paving, HVAC replacement, restroom renovations, needed repairs and much more.

 

"Because the South Whittier community supported Bond Measure QS, we are able to complete some much needed infrastructure projects,” South Whittier Superintendent, Dr. Gary Gonzales, shared. “These projects will enhance the overall educational experience of our students, staff and guests. Thank you for supporting Bond Measure QS"

 

South Whittier School District was successful at the “Bond Election” that took place back in November of 2016. It was that election that issued up to a $29 million aggregated principal amount of the district’s general obligation bonds, or “Measure QS”. It is through this expenditure that the district is able to make necessary improvements throughout the district. The district also has a BOND Oversight Committee whose purpose is to review district expenditures of bond proceeds generated under Measure QS.
