SWSD June 21 Board Meeting Recap

South Whittier School District held their monthly board meeting on Tuesday, June 21, in the district board room.

 

The meeting was held both in-person and via Zoom. The Board and attendees heard a presentation regarding the California School Dashboard Local Indicators. 

 

California School Dashboard Local Indicators Presentation

 

South Whittier School District’s Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, Dr. Rebecca Rodriguez, gave a presentation regarding the California School Dashboard Local Indicators.

 

Dr. Rodriguez shared what the Dashboard Indicators are. The first indicator is basic services. This includes access to materials and perception of student safety and connectedness. The second is implementation of standards. This includes professional development, alignment of instructional material, improvement of instruction, implementation of academic standards in physical education and support for teachers and administrators. The third indicator is parent engagement. This includes school district decision making and promoting parent engagement. The fourth indicator is school climate. This includes student perception and connectedness. The last indicator is access to broad course of study. This includes student access to enroll in broad course of study outlined in EC 51210.

 

Dr. Rodriguez was proud to report the District has met all indicators. 

 

The District will hold their next board meeting on Tuesday, July 26, in the district board room and via Zoom.
