SWSD Hosts Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

South Whittier School District has been hosting free COVID-19 vaccination clinics at all their school sites throughout November and December in an effort to provide resources for South Whittier families and the community.

The free vaccination clinics are for all individuals 5 years old and up. The clinic is providing first dose vaccinations, second dose vaccinations, and booster shots. For all children 5 years old to 18 years old, parents must be present.

The District has been offering a variety of COVID-19 resources. Aside from the vaccine clinics, they are also offering free weekly COVID-19 testing every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 5 PM at the Family Resource Center at Monte Vista.

South Whittier School District currently has the highest rate of vaccinated school age children in the Whittier area with 76.9% of eligible students vaccinated. South Whittier’s staff also has a high vaccine rate of 88%.

Earlier this year at a Coffee with the Superintendent event South Whittier Superintendent, Dr. Gonzales, shared that there is no vaccine mandate at South Whittier, however, the district wants to provide resources and opportunities for vaccines for those who would like to utilize them.
