South Whittier Education Foundation Hosts Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

South Whittier Education Foundation held their annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, February 22, at Graves Middle School to raise funds for South Whittier schools.

The Foundation had a great turn out to their annual event. The fundraiser was full of raffles, many student performances, and of course, pancakes. The event was free to attend and breakfast was five dollars with all proceeds going directly back to the schools. The event began at 8:00 am and had support from many school board members, administrators, principals, teachers, and district families.

Aside from the breakfast there were many student performances. Each school’s after school hip hop and folklorico program performed. Graves Middle School’s band played a couple songs and South Whittier School District’s mariachi band also performed.

During the fundraiser Think Together awarded students with Character Awards. Students from all South Whittier School District’s Think Together Programs received awards for showing grit, compassion, self-control, zest, and much more.

All proceeds from the pancake breakfast will go directly to enriching programs in South Whittier schools. The foundation focuses on supporting the arts, field trips, and after school programs. The hip hop and folklorico programs that performed at the fundraiser are supported and funded by the Education Foundation in partnership with the district.
