McKibben Elementary Hosts Think Together Showcase

Howard J. McKibben Elementary was a showcase site for the Think Together Program on Thursday, October 24, where parents, community members, and community leaders were invited to see how the Think Together Program has benefited and supported students.

Being a showcase site means that McKibben Elementary is a high performing Think Together site within their region. Think Together is currently in eight counties, 47 districts, and is currently running 552 programs. Since McKibben is a high performing site it is also the site that Think Together uses for training.

During the showcase attendees were able to see many different projects and activities that students have been working on. The students put together performances of Cat In the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. There were a variety of stations that could be visited that showcased student work. One including a prompt asking student’s to share about their dream college or career. One student shared about dreaming of going to USC and one day becoming a nurse.

Think Together also recognized students with awards for their achievements as well as parents who have volunteered. After all the presentations and performances attendees were able to visit student led booths that included a photo booth, cupcake decorating, and much more.

Think Together is a program that supports students through curriculum and activities that are aligned with what they learn during their school day. Their goal is to help students reach proficiency and achievement levels necessary to progress through school and prepare for college and career.
