Lake Marie Elementary held their 5th annual Mud Run on Friday, October 4, at their school.
Lake Marie holds this annual Mud Run as a way to teach students the importance of physical education, promote team work, and community building. All students got the opportunity to participate in the event and their families and the Lake Marie community were invited to encourage students through the course.
A large obstacle course was put together all throughout Lake Marie’s field. There were a variety of obstacles including climbing structures, mud boxes, and slides just to name a few. There were two rounds of the Mud Run divided by upper grades and lower grades. PTA also had healthy snack options available for students and families.
After the Mud Run local fire fighters from station 96 came to Lake Marie for a visit. They spoke to students about the importance of exercise and eating right, as well as the importance of getting good grades. After students heard from them, fire fighters turned on their fire hose and students were able to rinse off the mud from their run.
Awesome job Lake Marie Leopards!
