The English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) Field Tests begin in March: Here’s what you need to know.
We are pleased to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the state field test of the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California, the ELPAC, which will replace the current California English Language Development Test (CELDT). This is a great opportunity for our schools and district.
The purpose of the field test is to gather information about the design of the test and the performance of the test questions. This year’s field test is happening in specially-selected schools across California. Some English Learner students in our schools have been chosen by the state to participate in this field test.
The test will be administered over a period of several days. Because this is a field test, neither students, parents, nor teachers will receive individual student test scores or reports.
If you would like to know if your child has been selected for the field test, or if you have any questions, contact Martha Rojas, Associate Superintendent, Educational Services at (562) 944-6231.
If you wish to exempt your child(ren) from participating in this opportunity, you will need to submit a written request specifying your child’s name, grade, and the name of the test. This request should be submitted to the your child(ren)'s school site office by March 2, 2017.
